I am helping my friend with a 1954 restoration and I have run into a snag. We got new tags for the Gen.1102793,Starter 1108035 & Dist 1112314. there is a series of 4 numbers on all 4 tags that we can't make out. Is this a date or plant code that Delco Remy used? The car is number 211. This 1954 car stuff is all new to me. I have C3 cars and know most of the date codes. If anyone could help out, THANKS in advance. Tim NCRS 5910

Re: Little 1954 help PLEASE
The gen and starter have the part number - and a date code
the NCRS judging manual is a good reference
211 is an early car

Re: Little 1954 help PLEASE
Gary, This car was modified many years ago to a 12V system. We are looking for a general date code for the 3 parts that would be acceptible with when the car was built (221). We surly don't want all 3 to be the same date codes. If the NCRS spec guide or ref. manual has what I need I will be more than happy to get one. I have about wore out the pages on my 68-72 spec guide. Not sure on the early cars, but I know on the C3 cars 2 to 4 months PRIOR to the built is not out of the ordinary. Thanks for any info you can provide. Tim- Top

Re: Little 1954 help PLEASE
Tim,
Recommend ordering the 53-5 Technical Information and Judging Manual from the NCRS Store. Lots of good information in the manual.
# 211 is an early '54. Production started last week of December. With that said, last week of December would be my preference.
Maybe some of the 54 owners will give you some better guidance and actual date information for early 54's.
