63 Front Coil Spring Question

JG says that 63 standard coil springs have no tag on them. I have an original 63 with standard suspension that has a the remainder of a green tag on each coil spring. Is the JG correct? Thanks

Chuck, in 63 the coil spring had a paint swipe, no tag. I'll see if I can dig up the colors and post them here.

3832684- light purple - Standard Suspension

3833319- part # on paper tag - Car with A/C THE EXCEPTION

3832518- dark green - Z06/F40

What's your VIN to the nearest 10. I never saw front spring tags on my SWC,which was near 11,000 - about halfway through the production run.

Harry, My Mar. 14 (10674)car had a yellow tag on one of the springs when I restored the front suspension,I just thought that it was a replacement spring, as the lower ball joints were replaced at some point in its life.Of coarse I Threw the tag away not even giving it a second thought, after reading the 63/64 judging guide about the tags.

It's interesting that your tag is green and mine was a tan color. Does yours have the part number printed on it?

Yes mine has what appears to be a large "EA" and a part number both printed in black. Best photo is: http://ckautollc.phanfare.com/550222...geID=152453142

The tags are on the outboard side of the spring on the 4th from the bottom coil.
