    Black-Out or Undercoating?

    Gentlemen,
    Hope you are all well!

We had a Quebec NCRS meet this week and I still not sure about the answer to my question. I am replacing the panel baffle behind the grill opening on my 59 Corvette. I was told that in this area GM used blackout paint. I imagine blackout paint to be flat black. I notice that the inner pannels on either side of the panel baffle to be a more texture paint...similar to a rocker guard spray.

Can someone tell me what was used in this area and what is deemed accpetable...please?

Sorry if this subject was discussed in great delail in the past!

The areas inside the grille opening and the fake vent openings were done in plain black out paint which was basically simi- gloss. No undercoating in those areas.
