    C1 Deck Lid

I have some extra screw holes.. Why? Can I move the mount closer to the center, is this the reason the dog gone trunk lid wont stay open and always smack me in the head. IMG_0930.JPG

    Al,

The extra hole location was for the power top. The power top option has an arm that attaches at that location which raises the deck lid

I don't know for sure. But I believe that when the power top option was added to the C1s, the extra location was added. I've seen 57, 58, 59, and 60 dated lids that all had this. I would assume that once the power top lift point was added to the llid design for C1s, then all had it.

My '59 has its original deck lid. It does not have the extra holes for the power top...

Sorry, Al. Brain fart on my part. I call the trunk lid the deck lid. Of course it doesn't have the extra holes. My top lid does have the extra holes.

You're OK. I screwed up. See above.

Hey Al, just on your other question... why it won't stay open...? maybe the springs are losing their tension. I know people either shim or replace the springs, but sometimes you can't get the right height for the trunk and decklids afterwards, unless they are NOS springs.
