'71 Windshield Washer Pump Rebuilt with Pix

Thanx to Alan for e-mailing me Bob Cook's article from the Restorer from a couple years ago.

For the love of God, this thing must have been designed by engineers with a Rube Goldberg bent.

      Mark -

It was designed by appliance engineers (Delco Appliance Division); ever see a washing machine timer or transmission?

It is complicated but it's very ingenious. It's fascinating how they figured out how to operate devices like these mechanically in those days.

Agreed. It took me several minutes to figure out how the thing worked, and THEN I found the illustration in the Chassis Service Manual.

Working like a champ now, and it cost me less than $20, not including beer.
