    Rear Shock removal

In the past I recall a topic about removing the rear shocks by way of the rear shock access holes.... where are they in a 1960. I dont recall seeing them when I removed the fuel tank. And the way this looks from this photo.. they are not on a 1960. Anyone can help me out on this one.. IMG_0990.JPGIMG_0960.JPG

No access holes on a 60. Everything is done from below.

This is a very tight fit, so.. how do you remove the shock without taking the body off the frame.

I think you get an open end or flat box end wrench on the nut on top of the shock. You disconnect the bottom and rotate the shock to the upper wrench. Takes a lot of patience if I remember right. Last resort would be to take a hole saw and cut the fiberglass from the top above the shock.

The threaded stud at the top of the shock is attached to the dust shield. Put a wrench on the top nut and try to turn the dust shield to loosen. If it won't budge, you may have to use an air chisel on the nut.
