I recently acquired a '66 roadster roller out of Texas (late July '66 build). The seller was a C2 enthusiast with experience and, to my eye, fairly good mechanical skills. He started a frame off restoration and stopped after he'd finished the frame, suspension (front and rear), and fuel and brake lines. Looks like a very nice job, as far as he went, although it won't be a Top Flight candidate for a number of reasons since it's NOM. Originally a BBC, he said, I'm looking to finish it as a Corvette L79 327 because I have a correct but nonmatching L79 engine (engine pad VIN decodes as April build) freshly rebuilt in my garage (and Muncie M20). I'd appreciate an inspection and opinion by a knowledgeable NCRS C2 expert in my area to advise me as to what I've got here. Your time is valuable, so I am happy to pay for it and local transportation costs. Because it is a roller, inspection at my place (Calabasas, CA) is preferred. I understand opinions are not guarantees. I'm just seeking additional informed knowledge. I can be reached on this forum or directly at 818.429.0188. Much obliged for all responses. Jim Hughes
