C-1 "62" Right Side Door Trim

While I was installing new door panels I ran into a problem. The tab on the end of the right side angled door trim has broken off. This caused the trim to come away from the end of the door panel. I tried to use an adhesive, but no luck it still came apart. In checking Corvette Central, Zip Products and a few others the replacement set of 6 pieces is selling for $185.00. Is there anyone who can offer a suggestion. I'd be happy to buy just the curved trim for a reasonable price.

John, Thanks for your interest. I believe I can repair the broken tab with a little Yankee Ingenuity and epoxy cement.

I hate to spend $185.00 for 6 trim strips that have a value of $5.00. You can't make that kind of money with a gun.

Are you talking about the little bend over tab, that secures the trim to the panel? Many of used things such as even a paper clip to thread into the hole where that bend over tab was and now use the paper clip metal to do the same thing as the bend over tab. If that is your problem, give it a try. The price is cheap.

David, I was looking at the door panel this afternoon and your suggestion sounds good. I'll need to secure the paper clip to the back of trim with epoxy. The tab is broken off at the very end hole on the door panel.
