Dont try 4 turns, screw falls out! I tried adjusting the antenna trimmer on a hiltop where i could get a few stations. Tuned in on a week one and could not change reception with corvette central antenna lead, paragon antenna lead or short antenna lead laying in front seat. The antenna in the seat worked great. I could not make reception change by touching it. The rear antenna worked good if you touched the antenna. The paragon cable was much better in finding stations than the corvette central antenna lead wire. Radio on its way back to repair shop along with the paragon cable that i hope to use in the car. Hope the find something !

Follow up on radio reception. Radio did not work at repair shop once he used a rear antenna out of a 63 vette. He repaired it and along with the paragon radio cable with the inpedence capacitor built into the jack. The corvette central cable would not work( no capacitor) . My recommendation is to send in your antenna, your radio ,your antenna lead and your speaker to let the shop repair it with what is actually in the car instead of their bench antenna. Let them figure out what is incompatible and it will save you many hours in floorboard removing and installing radio. Thanks to steve at ford & garland radio service in des moines, ia for their persistence in this problem.

Dan, you mentioned your previous employer. Was it Associated Industries or Harris?

42 years at Harris/RF Communications. Before that it was 5 years at General Dynamics/Electronics. I'm all worked out - and enjoying my retirement to the fullest. -Dan-
