    2013 Corvettes at the NCM

These are all of the new blue color - sales material calls is Midnight Race Blue, but the build sheet with this 427 convertible (VIN #5) calls it Berlin Blue:

Being an owner of an original 63 Daytona Blue Convertible, this interests me more than any new Vette in the last 50 years - literally. Thanks for posting Terry.

Stu - I made this trip specifically to see that Midnight Race Blue (Berlin Blue). I have a 1967 Chevelle in Deepwater Blue -- a close cousin to Daytona Blue. This new blue is closer to black than either of our cars. From 10 feet away, even in bright sunlight, it looks black. One has to be right on it, and catch the highlights to see the blue. I am convinced the blue is in the metallic, and not the paint -- although my painter friends tell me that can't be true. This is a shade or two darker than my Deepwater and that is a shade darker than Daytona.

Maybe the lighting is poor, looks like black to me, especially if you ignore the blue top, which tends to trick your eyes. I like the 2012 Carlisle Blue better.

New (2013) ZL-1 and Camaro call it Blue Ray Metallic code GXH. Chevrolet: just please bring back 1970 Mulsanne Blue. That's the Best blue next to Nassau/Marina Blue. Amen. Szave the Wave.

Many C6 folks like the Jetstream Blue the best, and think it looks like Mulsanne.

Sure does, but because of earthquake in Japan last year the color was dicontinued. Supplier problems. It'd be nice if problems with supplier could be corrected and color be brought back as Mulsanne Blue. Love the meaning of the color too. Hope someone at GM is listening.

I tried my best to get the pictures in the sunlight,, but most modern colors -- including Jetstream Blue do not show the full effect in photos. Even professionals with studio lighting can trick the eye to mke colors show jist one part of their sprectrum. That is why one has to see the color in person and in differnet lighting conditions.

BTW: There are a lot of differences between Mulsanne and Jetstream. I have had the chance to see them beside each other -- both original paint.

Agreed. Before I ordered my Carlisle Blue ZR1 I had to see it in person at the Carlisle show, it was so much better in person than in photos, and I was hooked. BTW, mine is one of only 4 made in Carlisle Blue (and the color will not be used again), and the only one with a cashmere interior. Maybe my kids will have a rare car in about 40 years.....

As of last Friday no 2013 prices had been announced. I am not sure when that will happen.

Edit add: The first saleable 2013 are being built this week -- starting today. There is a hold on shipping the 2013 cars that is due to expire May 16, so one might think the 2013 prices will be released by May 16 at the latest.

Thanks to a little help from a friend a picture of Midnight Race Blue (Berlin Blue) from that 2013 convertible at the Bash at the Museum.

Typical Kentucky overcast. It's entirely possible the sun came out an hour after the pics were taken.

The sun was out on Saturday for the photo I posted below to Ken's message.
