need an Appraisal for my 1967, for Classic Car Insurance. I live in the SF Bay Area (Zip 94505). Could you recommend someone?

Most collector car insurance companies let you determine the value of your car and you pay accordingly

I agree with Terry. They usually want current pictures that show an intact car and the condition.

I agree with the above. Told them the value I wanted and sent them pictures to back it up. No problem.

Colin, it's called an "Agreed Value" policy, and you need to make sure that it really is a true Agreed Value policy. You set the value of the car (within reason) and they'll set your premium accordingly. There is a lot in the archives about this, you should check it out.

I just got insurance for my '64 L-84. I got estimates from several companies. The best rate by far was from NCM (National Corvette Museum). You can get an estimate on-line from many companies and you can set the value you want, although I asked for a value that was $20K more than what they said was the book value and that was their limit. I agreed and took the policy which states that it is an "agreed value".

Had Hagarty for my last restoration and checked their price for the same coverage on thier qwebsite. They were double the price I got from NCM.

FYI Website pricing is not truly accurate by nature, call Hagerty and talk to an agent, It sure made a difference for my policy!!!

It is always best to talk to an agent and do it right the first time. No surprises at claim time!
