Suffix and assembly line 1964

The car with the vin number before my 1964 coupe on the assembly line have a RE suffix(that car is a convertible)and my 1964 coupe is a factory AC car and suffix is supposed to be RR
I ask because i just read a little about the car before my car on the assembly line have a RE suffix so i wonder if did GM did "batches of the same suffix" or was it all random on the assembly line?

Except for styles (coupes) and high labor input options (A/C, N03 big tank, etc.) that affected line labor balance, other options ran at random and weren't significant scheduling considerations in 1964.

My car have factory AC and several cars just before and after my car have the L76 option strange enough
But the car before my car is a convertible (40867S)and my car is a coupe(40837S)
