69 Convertible Alarm

Hi,
I've located a NOS alarm barrel and key assy to get my alarm working. i can't find anything other than wiring diagrams in all the books i have and none of them show how to R & R the barrel. If anyone has replaced this part, I'd be very appreciative of some guidance on the best way to perform this task.

Just drop the spare tire and take a look. There is nothing to it. You may need to remove the spare top cover, but maybe not if you have long arms and little corrosion. A large nut threads on the back of the barrel, and the wire connectors are held on with little screws. Just unscrew the nut and the old barrel and lock assy will come out the hole in the rear panel. Unscrew the little screws for the wire connectors and replace with the new barrel. Corrosion holding the wires outside the hole will be your only issues.
