It's very clear from the picture that she just got done expertly installing a fresh set of muffler bearings. I think her ASE certification patch is on the other, non-visible side of her dress.

May be she has an HEI distributor. We used to do a parking lot fix using the heel of our shoe to rap the cap. Worked every time. I can see where someone more experienced with the problem may carry a hammer.

Maybe someone told her the master cylinder was a 'knock off' piece and she was using the hammer to tighten it, as per GM procedure?
