TDB Access Problem - Fixed!

TDB Access Problem has been repaired. We suspect that our Server Host has made a slight change in one of the server settings and we had to make a change in the Discussion Board settings to accommodate the change.

For you as a user you may find that links that you have saved to old posts don't work any more. I am not sure of this but it is the only possible problem we that could think of that might affect anyone.

If we find that our host has made a change we will try to change our settings back to original so that old links will still work.

Very strange - up until today (since the new TDB went online), the URL in my "Favorites" to access the board directly has always been:

https://www.forums.ncrs.org/forumdis...cal-Discussion

That URL now gets me this error screen:

Error 403 - Forbidden
You tried to access a document for which you don't have privileges.

After backing into the TDB from the site main page and copying the resulting URL:

https://www.forums.ncrs.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1

Using that URL as my "Favorite" works fine, and takes me directly to the TDB just like the old one used to.

Why would that TDB URL have changed since yesterday?

John,

It appears the server hardware vendor changed a permissions or security settings in the server Operating system.

John discovered a work around to get the TDB back on-line, which changed the way the URL is presented for threads.

The www.forums.ncrs.org/ did not change.

Hopefully, the problem will get resolved and we can go back to the way it was.

Dan,

Login to and access the forum from www.forums.ncrs.org/ then click on the Archives forum.

Previous saved Bookmarks or Favorite links won't work do to the work around that was implemented.
