#4 font on c1 engine pads

There has been much discussion over the use of the #4 font at the Flint plant on C1 Corvette engine pads. The more common font used is a "closed 4" like the one used in this text but I am finding examples of an "open 4" like the one in the attached photo on known original blocks. I would appreciate anyone posting other examples of the "open 4" or private email me if you are uncomfortable about posting your photo. If there is enough evidence to submit a proposed change to
the judging manuals, I will follow that through. Thanks, Jim Ofria

There is no question that the open 4 was used on C1 blocks. I personally have two engines, both Flint, that have the open four. Both have "no question" broach marks and carry the correct Corvette suffix codes for 1957 production. I have seen others.
