    Exhaust

Does anyone know what the (a) stands for in the casting number 3846559 a off a 66 corvette 327/350hp? Thank you

    Re: Exhaust

When I bought my 1966 Corvette in Sept. 1979 the LH exhaust manifold was a replacement. The casting numbers on this manifold were as follows: "3846559A", LH2", "SCC", and "I-28-76" (Sept. 28, 1976). I have always assumed that the "A" meant that there was a minor modification to the 3846559 manifold.

      Re: Exhaust

Refer to the link below to see the difference between a 3846559 manifold and a 3846559A manifold. The 3846559A manifold has 2 indents near the 2 center bolt holes. The question is when the change took place. It appears that the change took place before May 25, 1967.

I found another "3846559A LH33 K25" manifold in my collection dated November 25th but I do not know the year.
