Re: 67 shifter adjustment problems
You are right about the Honor Flights Ray. The Central Illinois Honor Flight just returned a couple weeks ago from taking their 1000th WWII veteran to see the Washington DC Memorials. The guy that started the Central Illinois chapter, Don Niehart, is one of the most humble and down to earth guys you would ever run into. He has poured his heart and soul into the program. The fundraiser we attended Monday in Effingham was outstanding!!
I stopped into the local Chevrolet dealer today and picked up some GM 89021671, which is suppose to be GL4 according to a couple other Chevy forums. I got it changed out and see if there is any difference. I did notice when I drained the transmission the drain plug had some super small metal flakes. Appeared to be metallic looking so I would assume it was the brass. Both the drain and fill plug were magnetic and had little screens on them, which I assume they were suppose to be. Thanks again for posting Ray. Now I am going to start another thread to identify these parts: DSCN3507.jpg
