    54 harmonic balancer

Can the balancer be removed with all the oil still in the pan? I have a leak there as the oil pools on the lip under the balancer. I can see its not coming from the balancer seal and I removed the pan and appliaed sealer to the bolts to the timing cover from the inside. That leaves the very bottom of the timing cover but I cant tell for sure. If I can remove the balancer with the oil in maybe I can verify that the cover is leaking. Its not the little freeze plug. Can the timing cover come off with the water pump in place? Thanks as always.

The balancer can come off with the pan on
Double check the little freeze plug - mine leaked there
you may have the replace the front seal - lube the seal and balancer when you re-install
