I just replaced the wiper switch on my 62 and all works fine. However can my old switch be rebuilt? It would retract the Bowden cable internal wire fine but not extend it when the knob was turned. It was like the gears inside were stripped. Who repairs these or can I do it myself?

Re: Wiper switch rebuild on 62
I took mine apart to see what was inside there. Open up slowly so you can see how it works. The little gear and cable with the gear only mesh so far. I had overturned mine and it popped off of the gear. Hard for me to explain . You will see once opened up. Lube it up and put back together.- Top

Thanks. It's a rainy day here in Maine so that sounds like a good garage project. Bill- Top

Re: Wiper switch rebuild on 62
All fixed. I lubed it with new grease and it's now fine. I also found a switch with two nozzles for squirting in my parts bin. What does that go to? I have had many mid-years and a few 62-64 full size cars if that helps. Bill- Top
