    67 Windshield code

Is there only one date code (M#) for a tinted windshield. Mine states M4. NCRS guidelines states that the M is followed by 2 or 3 digit #. Side glass are M54.
    Thank you.

    Alan,

The tinted windshield in my January '67 coupe also has "M4", it is a manufacturer's (LOF) production code. The date code will be to the right of the LOF logo. Mine is VA, which translates to December, 1966.

Same for the side glass, the date code will be to the right of the LOF logo, the "AS2" designation will be on the left side of the LOF logo.

      Scott:
Thanks for your response. I was questioning the M4 but it appears that your's has the same. Is your windshield an original or a replacement?
Have a great rest of the weekend.

        Alan,

Yes, my windshield is original, and the other glass is also original except for the driver side door glass, which is an early service replacement dated April 1967, and has "Flo-Lite" over the date code instead of "Plate". According to Colvin's "Corvette by the Numbers", April 1967 was the changeover month from "Safety Plate" to "Safety Flo-Lite". We found broken shards (lots of them) of the original driver side door glass in the bottom of the door when we took it apart. Guess they didn't have a Shop-Vac back then

Alan Colvin's book has a 12-page chapter on all the codes and details of Corvette glass, and there is some interesting reading on LOF glass done by the Camaro Research Group at this link: http://www.camaros.org/glass.shtml
