    '68 Wheel Color revisited

Dilema! ready to paint steel wheels for my '68. Checked past posts and some say '68 wheels are silver like '67. Other posts state '68 should be silver with greenish tinge. Judging manual says '68 & '69 are painted an unsual silver color with a greenish hue. Now I checked Quanta's catalog they state '67 & '68 wheels are silver. '69 and later had a greenish tinged silver. I'm confused....can someone advise which is correct and is there a paint code I can use? Hopefully someone can solve my problem. Thanks

Green hue per the existing manual and the revised manual, if it ever comes out. Be aware that the paint is not glossy, saw several wheels too glossy at San Diego

        Re: '68 Wheel Color revisited

Thought i'd toss this out there to see if it holds water regarding the greenish hue. When trying to learn about the greenish hue for my68 wheels i learned that Kelsey dip painted the rims in black primer and sent to GM. Once received at GM,the rims rolled down a line and sprayed "silver" which obviously included the over spray on the backsides of the rims through the vent holes. The silver was actually a bumper paint from a Chevy truck?? The greenish hue is the primer showing through the paint. Maybe the silver paint was thinly covering the primer or the primer was bleeding through. The premise is that the silver was not a specific greenish color, rather, a result of the primer and silver relationship. So, my info is anecdotal and could be entirely wrong. I know this topic has been covered exentensivly, but thought I'd put this theory out there to hear what others have found.

        Best,
        Pat
