1967 header bar in the front clip

for the header bar in the front end for the holes for the emblem. should the hole have a lip towards the top (like it was punched out) or should it be flat. did it change though out the run of the mid years?

I deleted my original post as it appears it was wrong. I looked at a 67 that had the flat hole however it has had some front end damage. I have access to another 67 that I will check.

Russ I looked at one original no hit car and dads no hit 67 and both are flat. dads other 67 is a St. Louis body, I forgot to see where the other car body was from.

        Keith -

Those front emblem access holes changed from '66 to '67; the holes had a rolled lip in '66, but they changed in '67 to ordinary pierced holes with no lip or flange.

Yes, they did - there was only one supplier that shipped to both plants; as I recall, it was Chevrolet-Indianapolis Stamping. Indy also made the radiator supports and most of the birdcage stampings.

Perhaps Chris E will post a photo of his early restamp header bar.

He has a little of both...

Up to the first 1000+ had the old 66 style rolled lip, with the 67 modification which was an overlapping hole with the sharp edges.
