    1965 paint code jj

THERE IS A 65 RED / BLACK 396 FOR SALE IN CHISHOLM, MN http://www.carsonrestoration.com/car...d=213&Ret=Cars

This car has a very rare JJ paint code. According to Chevrolet, the JJ code denotes 1 of 5 cars that left the factory with "un-specified Paint or in Primer". Some say this car may have been ordered by a race team because of the options.

CAN ANYONE COMMENT ON THIS STATEMENT?

Not sure of the JJ code...as long as the trim tag is an original....but seems odd that a race team would order leather interior for a race car....

Seems to be priced pretty low for a '65 396 with factory knock-offs. In the features section it states "fresh motor" and in the description it says "numbers matching". Is it a rebuilt motor or a restamp, I wonder.

Well, one thing is for sure - the same photographer did not take the pictures of the Trim and Vin plate - what does the VIN look like to others?

Well, the more I look the more I'd like to know what others think about that trim tag....I've got some thoughts on it....

It doesn't look anything like the one on my car built less than 1000 before it. We probably share the same thoughts.

I am no tag expert by any means, but I see some anomalies in that tag. I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night either

its amazing how scratched and scuffed the vin tag is compared to the trim tag

Ah yes, like that famous dealer, just be sure you know the difference between "numbers match" and "the real deal".

This one has been 4 sale for the past couple of years any many sites with no takers- IMO any potential buyer should do their homework and have someone knowledgeable of L78's look it over real close in the daylight in person

The potential buyer was an old ''racer''. I sent him a few ''real'' race C-2's to look at before he fell in love with a stray

I love the term "some say" I'd say "No Way jose!" Not one statement in the ad that establishes an iota of proof for the statements. No Owner history, just a wonderfully written "disclaimer" ad...

He didn't say what #'s matched. Buyer beware!
