Need spark plug info for 1972 LT1

Sorry, may be a dump question. I have looked through the owners manual and JG and cannot find what plug originally
    came in the 1972 LT1.

    Please help.

Should be a R42TS to a R46TS the number is the heat range 42 is a cooler plug for steady state cruise and the 46 is a hotter plug for around town low speed to prevent fouling. I usually would run a R44TS in my 1971 LT-1 worked fine for me. Also check the owners manual it should be listed in there. The original spark plugs were AC Delco "ACNITER"

My 1972 Corvette Parts Catalog (Sept. 1971) lists GM # 5613355 (AC-R44T) as the recommended service spark plug for the 72 Corvette. I do not know what type was installed on the assembly line.

I don't have a 1972 Owner's Manual, but it is in my 1970 OM. Toward the back in the Specifications section. I can't imagine 1972 OM was much different.

          Joseph,
I would use an R44TS AC plug as Paul suggests. That is a 4 heat range with an extended tip (S). Should serve you well for all around driving and will judge well also.

I have an original 1972 Chassis Service Manual covering Chevrolet, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Nova, Camaro, and Corvette (1972 General Motors Corporation). In the Engine Tune Up section there are two different spark plugs listed for all V8 engines (307,350, 400, 402, and 454).
            Standard: AC-R44T
            Cold: AC-R43T
            The gap is 0.035".
