    '68 Ignition Shield

I have '68 serial number 6756, 327 350hp. Car was built Dec. '67. I have heads 3917291, both are L17. The left head has a temperature sending unit at the forward left hand side. The judging manual, page 51 states '68 shielding has no opening either left, front or right rear for temperature sending unit as it is mounted on the intake manifold. The manifold is 3919803 and there is no place to put a sending unit. Which shield would I use in this position. The early one without a hole (and run the wire over top) or the later one with the hole. Appreciate an answer. Thanks.
