Is this correct color underside of this 67?

I have to do some minor repairs on my 67s underside and was told that the color would be natural finish. this car was on ebay and said it earned a top flight award-can the underside be painted black?

    thanks Mark7S117274-56sm.jpg

The short answer is No, it is not the right color.

FYI, just because a car earns a Top Flight Award doesn't mean it's perfect. This is a very common misconception.
The 5% can allow for a lot of "errors."

PS - here is a better photo, though the green chromate may not be correct for your car:

So when someone has to make a repair use a color added to the fiberglass?

Or they hit it with black spray paint because they though it looked good.

Would a 67 have the green chromate finish on the seat & seat belt mounting brackets as shown on Patrick's car underside?

                    Al,
The rear seat mount plates (4pieces, thick) for both AO Smith and St Louis build s/b natural steel, no finish. The four seat belt mounts finish s/b cad or clear zinc again for both AO Smith and St Louis build. The forward long seat mount is shown correct for AO Smith only, St Louis is a black paint finish.

Not shown in the photo are the two forward pan shield toe mounts, being green chromate finish on AO Smith and black on St Louis build.

I think that depends if it is a St Louis body or a Dow-Smith body.

That is my understanding as well.

I note that the photo I grabbed shows a car with green chromate parts and side exhaust, i.e. what appears to be side exhaust on a AO Smith body. Allegedly that combination did not occur, so either the parts are the wrong color or the side exhaust is added or ?

Thus my comment that the parts may not be correct for the OP's car.
