1957 cardboard divider

Looking for some help in painting the cardboard trunk divider. Do you primer and then color coat and what finish. Dull , flat etc . Any advise would be appreciated.

Cardboard is porous and has a lot of grip so it does'nt matter whether you prime it or use an extra top coat. You will need one coat to seal it either way. I'm not familiar enough with 57's, so I don't know about the kind of paint, but it's probably the same as the interior. Someone will need to confirm that.
