FWIW, I complained to my salesman about excessive brake dust coming from the front of my Grand Sport. After a 600 mile trip, I found dust all the way down the side of my brand new car, leading into the rear quarter air intakes. The dealer found nothing "abnormal." I was told that this problem has been reported and that I should see less dust after the car has a "few thousand miles on it." Of course I was skeptical. Well, now I have approx 3,700 miles on it and I do believe I am seeing less dust. Most of the dust now seems to localized to the wheels themselves.

I read this thread with much interest and will continue to watch the thread and will continue to watch my car to determine if I should change pads or not. Thanks for posting this thread.

Thanks Don, I am learning a bunch about the pads too. I hope my dust problem "clears" up a bit like some say.

I have zero brake dust on my ZR1 after 5000 miles on the carbon ceramic brakes, never even cleaned the wheels so far. After burnishing, they stop like, almost, on a dime too.

Almost 5000 miles on my 2012 Z06/Z07 pkg too, no noticeable dust, but then again, the wheels are black.

Not fair Vinnie! Mine are painted silver, but with yours that hand-built engine you did has much to do with this too, right?

Remember Gary Bosselman put Hawk pads (no I don't know what kind of Hawk pads) on his 2013 Grand Sport and noticed far less dust than the OEM pads.

You guys with the Carbon Ceramic ZR1/Z07 brakes are in a very different situation than those of us with standard or Z06 pads. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Michael...those wheels and tires were part of the Z07 option package...

Ah, OK, with mine those wheels were only available as part of the Centennial Edition Package, I think, and I didn't want black wheels no matter how practical they can be with brake dust and road dirt....
