neat L88 story

as rare as L88s are it was cool to here about one from our small town. one of my car buddies had a 67 black coupe L88 he had bought in the mid 70s for $3,500. he of coarse sold it regretting it ever since. but he did get to see it on the cover of some sort concerning the L88 reunion at bloomington. does anyone know where this car is now? i think a reunion picture would be cool and greatly apprecitated. my friend is just now getting back into vettes after raising his family for the past 30 years. i am pushing him to join NCRS which i know he will because i can still see the love of vettes on his face when he was looking at my 66.

I am no L88 expert or historian but was under the impression the first L88 out of the factory was the '66 Penske race car; which was not an RPO car. L88 became RPO in '67. When you state real '65 L88; is the car documented some how? 1965 was the first year for the BB and it was 396 ci, not 427 which the L88 is. Can you provide more information on the story of this car?

In see Terry has a '67 L88 full engine available for sale. Wonder if it is the "real deal", since only 20 were supposedly made in '67?
