Mike, KC & Dave made it to the hotel in Wendover yesterday late morning...by noon they were sitting poolside sucking down some refreshing adult beverages...we made it to Mountain Home, ID and parked for the night...leave this AM & expect to arrive around noon today and hook up with the rest of the gang.Comment

SWC with FI was initially owned by a 1st Lt in the USAF at Mountain Home AFB. He kept himself entertained with periodic runs on the highway from 0 to 120....0 to 120....Comment

today was a layover day....everyone coming in and going thru tech...saw and chatted with Howard Loomis for a while...was good to see him...tomorrow it all starts...here's a link to some pics...but muchs more to come tomorrow evening...

Good Luck to you and wish I could be there to share the experience. We've never met , but I've seen your car run at Wilmington ,Ohio Mile. For those that don't know. Wilmington ,Ohio now has a measured mile and they have four events a year. The event is run by the East Coast Timing Association . Anyone interested in speed should experience Wilmington. The Cincinnati Chapter of NCRS is planing a tour to Wilmington,Ohio on Sat. September 29th and would welcome others to join us. Please feel free to contact Steve Barrett 513-829-4664 for further info. Remember NCRS can be more than just date codes and over spray. Just one mans opinion.

Well...Dave made two runs yesterday on a shortened track due to the wet salt from the heavy thunderstorms Friday afternoon/evening...they were only two mile timed instead of the three mile and he topped out at 197, but wasn't aware the last mile was not timed but he felt he was continuing to accelerate thru the third mile...today the car started and immediately stalled and froze. Something in the engine broke and we came back to the pits and tried everything possible but the engine is toast...it's loaded on the trailer and the week is over...I'm working on a video of the last run from yesterday but in the mean time, here's a few photos...the plan as it stands now is to hang around and watch the racers tomorrow (Monday) and then head for home early Tuesday morning.

Thanks for the updates and pics Vinnie! Greatly appreciated. Too bad about the broken lump. Sounds like it went pretty good when it ran. Prep for next time, now. I was glad to see the pics of some of the "cars" at the casino. Have you eaten at the "alot for your money" restaurant near the entrance to the salt? Thanks again for the updates and pictures!

NO FUN Engine problems. Looked pretty wet there at the end of the video. Car looked very stable. 200 MPH in an old 56 Corvette is just insane. Especially for 2 miles. Congrats guys. Do we do motor homes and spare engine and parts for next year.....make this a real club project? Sure beats polishing nine fin covers.Over 80 Corvettes of fun !
