67 Front license plate bracket mounting location

I am trying to verify the mounting location for the front license plate bracket for a 67 with L-79 and a/c. UPC C60 Page B4 of the AIM shows it mounted on a special bracket under the drivers side bumper(on the left side). I could not find a reference on that page to either BB or SB application. But I recall reading that the standard location in the front center of the car between the bumpers is correct, and that the drivers side locatin is for BBcars with a/c
Any help on my question is most appreciated.

Neal:

For your small block car (L-79) with AC, the mounting position is front and center.

The offset position is for big block cars with BOTH AC and auto transmission. For BB cars with AC and 4-speed, the mounting is the same as for the SB cars (front and center).

The offset license plate bracket is covered in the '67 Judging Guide in the Exterior area, section #13, License Bracket; also shown (with photos) in Noland's book, page 408.

I had seen the picture in Nolan Adam's book and the Judging Guide location description as well, I just couldn't reconcille that information with the AIM which doesn't indicate in UPC 60 on page B4 that the mounting location under the left bumper is limited to BB with a/c.Neal

The idea was to get more air flow on BB/AC & auto Corvettes. I had a BB/AC auto & it had the bracket on the driver side bumper.

I appreciate the input. Can I conclude then that the AIM(UPC 60 page B4) is in error by not stating that the license plate bracket mounting location under the drivers bumper is applicable to BB with a/c only?

Yes, an error of omission - usually the title block identifies a unique application, but that one didn't.
