I've been trying to lean out the idle on my 61 with 2x4 WCFBs. I'm at the point where the idle mixture screws are only 1/2 turn out from bottom. Front carb has no screw for idle speed so I thought the throttle plate was completely closed on it.
Before this car all I've ever touched has been Holley carbs so I was searching on this forum for WCFB related posts and read this from John Hinckley:

John...can you provide more specifics or a picture as to what you mean by "bending a tang on the primary throttle shaft"?
Also, if anyone can recommend a good WCFB book I'd like to hear it. I read reviews on Amazon and didn't seem like there was anything really great. I've read Dave Emmanuel's books for Holley carbs but the reviews for his Carter book were not glowing.
