    Power stering setup

After 2 days of draging parts/tires out of my attic I have it all down for the Sept 1 auction. I have a complete PS setup for a mid year. Will that fit 63 to 67 or are they different & if so how do I tell. Also is there anyone who will be at the RM/ACD weekend that would be willing to help identify some of the parts? Also some of the NOS/ origional tires have white chauky on them. Should I clean them or leave alone. The Firestone steelbelt 500's are the worst. THANKS KEN

It depends if it's for a big block or small block. 1965-74 big block power steering set-ups are essentially the same. There are a few small brackets difference for 70-74 versus 65-69.

For small blocks, the 63-74 systems are essentially the same. However, the pullies vary somewhat by particular engine application and year. Also, the 63-68 relay rods are 3/4" and the 69+ are 7/8". However, the rods are functionally interchangeable.

      Ken,

Back in the 1980's I collected a few dozen P/S brackets from various Chevrolet models made in the 1960's. I made up a chart comparing the part numbers of P/S brackets and supports using the 1963-1969 Corvette assembly manuals. The 1963-1964 Corvette P/S bracket and 1964 Corvette support are the same as those used on a 1963 Chevrolet (283,327) models. I believe that I still have 1 or 2 original 1963 sets as well as a 1966-1969 NOS set in my collection. If you need a few photos it may take a few days. The 3786870 (63-64 Chev. & Corvette) bracket looks similar to the 3941114 bracket (68 Chev. w/307) but there is a difference.

If you post a few photos of your brackets I may be able to identify them.
