    ECL question

I was talking with someone over the weekend about ECLs and he was telling me that a car that he knows about had to be born as at least a 435 because the ECL code listed M35 as one of the exceptions on the trim tag, as SHP engines required a four speed. I don't think that's correct so how do I explain this to him?

    Steve -

If an ECL "excludes" M35, it just means that car was built without Powerglide (with a manual transmission); could be any engine.

That's what I thought but I wanted to be sure. Thanks John!
