    Documentation like Geneology, Hard to find the Gr Gr Grandparents!

    Hi to everyone! I'm new and have 10,000 questions...have been reading old posts for hours!
    Anyway...as a geneologist I understand the process just not quite sure how to dig up the great great grandparents of my 1974 454 Convertible. I've got the Daddy down in Miami (that I bought it from) and the Gr grandaddy that used to live in Michigan and then the trail goes cold...Any advice on where to look next? I do know it's a St. Louis built model but thats about it...
    Any suggestions on how you "organize" all that documentation would be helpful also. I'm saving everything including receipts!

          Hi Pam !!!! Welcome to the board !! Tracing the history of these cars is a crap shoot sometimes. It takes a little skill and a lot of luck. Do you know where the car was sold new ???? Post any info that you would like to share with us. You will soon find the Corvette world is actually pretty small. maybe some of that luck will come your way because of us here at NCRS !!                   I'm also the genealogist for my family, and cars are much harder since there are no census, passenger manifests, or even family bibles, birth and death records, internet family trees and internet grave searches available. I finally used a professional car detective, who is also a member of NCRS, who knows about Corvettes and how to track down owners. He found the 10 previous owners of my '67 within a few months and was worth the money. AutoAncestry.com, Bill Gould.
