    1962 tail light short

I have rechecked all of the grounds in all of the tail lights. Symptoms brake light OK. Left turn light OK - no brake light. Right turn OK - brake OK. Brake light OK. Repeatable about 9 out of 10 times then on the 10th everything works as it should. All grounds for all lights and the main ground re checked. Ideas?

    Rick,

I have moved your post to the Technical Discussion Board. The Help forum is for problems with using the forum.

To answer your question it sounds like your turn signal canceling switch is not making the contact for your brake light consistently. When you turn on your turn signal the circuit to the brake switch is broken and the circuit to the flasher replaces it. When your signal cancels it is supposed to make the brake circuit reconnect. The turn signal switch is behind your steering wheel. It may just need to be cleaned and lubricated, or if something is broken it may need to be replaced.
