C2 Lock washers; Were production parts not available as service parts?

The 1966 AIM has lists the following six lock washers having the same 103 starting three numbers for the GM part number:

    103319, 103320, 1033321, 103328, 103329, 103330

Were any of these lock washers available under the original part number as a service replacement part?

    Thanks,

    Gary

103320, 103321 and 103329 once were available. These are all split lockwashers with a 'plain' finish. For the most part, GM does not usually service fasteners with a plain finish but, instead, supplies those with a plated finish.

      Joe,

For the 3 lock washers that were not available as service replacement parts under the original part numbers, is it likely that GM sold "equivalent" items under a different part number for items that would have been plated?

          Joe,

Is there any easy way to determine what the service replacement equivalents were for production items 103319, 103328, and 103330?

Not unless the size specs of those washers is known. However, it should be possible to infer at least the ID from the size of the bolts that those washers are used with.

                Joe, Gary,
What evidence do you have that a 103321 was a plain washer?

Do you have the bolt-nut washer drawing?

Or the GM Engineering Standards book that contains these details - that some NCRS members have in their living rooms?

How would you explain the same part number being supplied to assembly plants by the thousands also being supplied to the Flint parts Central warehouse in a different finish?

                  Ron,

I have a GM # 103321 lock washer in its original GM packaging in front of me right now. The washer is very dark gray in color. I'm guessing the color is either from heat treatment or perhaps from a black phosphate treatment. Do you some evidence that shows that GM # 103321 lock washer had a different finish?

The GM parts information which I have says that the GM #103321 washer had a "plain" finish. This usually means that the fastener was as-manufactured and without subsequent finish.
