    Clutch Choices

OK Guys, I now have the new ZL1, 427 and I'm gathering up everything I need to install it into my '67 Vette. I just received the new GM 3991469, 11" Flywheel. I need your help in determining a good quality clutch kit to mount to it. This will be strictly a street application, with normal daily driving to ice cream outings and weekly car shows and occasional cruise events. This engine probably puts out 475 +/- hp. I'll be backing it up with an M22 rock crusher trans. and 336 rear gears, regular street tires. I've been researching Google for clutch manufactures, but this led to a lot of confusion. Please offer your experience and advise on what kit I should choose. Thanks!! Herb

Same here. My 427 makes around 500hp, with an M20 and 3.36 gears. I've been running a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch for over 9 years, and it's performed great. As a side note, I do not baby this vehicle, I drive it hard.
