    The Price of Acrylic Lacquer

    I purchased a pint of lacquer at English Color in Irving, TX on August 22nd and the price was $80. Due to a PPG price increase on August 27th (which English Color did not warn me), the cost for a pint of Ermine White lacquer on August 31 was $97! Is PPG the only source of lacquer paint?

              Unfortunately, I have to have the Ermine White custom mixed to match my 1979 paint job. I have the formula that English Color used to make the custom color.

                  The last time I bought acrylic lacquer was Dupont Ermine White and it was $20 a gallon, back when it was the good stuff (1985). I wouldn't pay that amount for the crap that's available today.
