Re: 67 PowerGlide rolls in park
The linkage from gearshift selector to transmission is miss-adjusted. How does the linkage feel. Is it loose like nothing is connected?
The linkage inside the transmission became disconnected. This could be fixed by dropping the pan (please drain the oil first.) examining the linkage, and if you are lucky reattaching it. Bonus would be a fluid change at the same time.
The prawl broke. Pretty sure the trans has to come out for this one, but drop the pan to see what is up.
The disk on the output shaft fractured. I am sure the trans has to come out for this one. Rebuild the trans while it is out.Terry- Top

Re: 67 PowerGlide rolls in park
the car has been in restoration for 35 years, the transmission was rebuilt a few years ago but never was driven. When I shift into Drive or reverse it goes into gear and can be driven. How tight should the linkage feel? Should I put it in park and make the linkage really tight?- Top

Have you adjusted the linkage per the procedure in the Assembly Manual (section M35, sheet A7)?- Top

Re: 67 PowerGlide rolls in park
John/Terry thanks for the help. I went back to square one readjusted the linkage and now she works like new. Its funny how the car was close enough to drive but not adjusted correctly. I made about 4 full turns on the adjustment and now when she goes into gear it is nice and smooth. Thanks again.- Top
