I just installed an aftermarket wiper motor and when I tried to run it the wiper blades only went up about 1/4th of the way up and back. I checked all of the wiring and it seemed OK. When I checked the linkage movement I noticed that the motor drive shaft was ocillating but not rotating. It seems to me that the shaft needs to be rotating to get full travel of the wiper blades. Is that correct and is this possibly the wrong motor for the 68?

Re: 68 windshield wiper motor
Hi Harry,
I believe you're right that the shaft turns 360 degrees.
Here's a link to a video that MAY give you some help on your 68 wiper motor.
It's from Willcox Corvettes.
Good Luck!

Re: 68 windshield wiper motor
Harry, sounds like the wiper motor is cycling in and out of the park position. this generally means the park switch is faultly.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 68 windshield wiper motor
Hi Harry,
I'm glad it helped you.
Willcox has done, and is still creating, some very helpful videos for trouble shooting things like the gauges, and the 68-72 headlight/wiper vacuum systems!
