    Another new discovery

I have been working on putting the dash assembly back together on my brothers '62, including the gauges, dash pad, grab bar and heater controls.
I brought the radio out to clean it up and discovered some writing on the bottom of it.
    I have attached pictures.
From what I can read it says:
    Serial number 20867S102550
    Date of Sale 11/16/61
    Miles 5534
    Warranty

Apparently the radio was replaced under warranty.

The other picture shows writing that I can't seem to decifer.
But, I think it may be the name of the Chevrolet dealer where the replacement
    radio was installed.

Can anyone tell me what it says?
Some of you that know the old Chevrolet dealers may recognize the name.
I thinks the third word may be Chevrolet...

This may help me to determine where this car came from.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

David, I can't tell since I am not from the NE, but I would send it off to Jerry Rudbeck (864)363-0947 to be refurbished. Looks a little crudsy inside. Better to fix while out of the car. Looks like this when done.

When a radio was repaired under warranty it was sent to a local repair shop , the dealer would write the customers name and vin on it to identify it. I worked at a dealer in the late sixties

So what we are looking at in the first picture is more likely the customers (owners) name you think?

Probably is customers name. Where i worked the parts dept would send them out to be repaired they would write all the info with a felt tip marker.

            David,

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I'm assuming it still works as mine does.
