    Who/Where can I get my bumpers "Re-Chromed"?

I'm up in Ohio. The front bumpers on my 1959 Vette are getting a little dull.
Who does a nice job of re chroming these bumpers at a reasonable price? (and time frame)
The bumpers are straight, true, and solid. They will only need new chrome.
    Thanks

Check the archives. There are a lot of suggestions. Paul's Chrome is one of the best, but they are expensive. I think that they are in PA. Advanced plating is good and somewhat cheaper. They are in TN.

        Ken,

Call Mike Barr at Metal Brite in Dayton 937 278-9739.
He does the prep work and has the chrome is done by an excellent industrial plater in Dayton.

        Bruce Bursten

I have also had good work done by Knox Plating in Knoxville , TN.

If you're willing to ship, Airline Plating in Houston, TX...

They did some '65 knockoff spinners for me and managed to keep the wording and arrows easily identifiable on the spinners after their re-chroming process, however, I did spend a lot of time upfront with them telling them how important the words and arrows were for the finished process. They came out very nice...

Would also discuss the level of chrome finish that you desire in advance with them...

FWIW, One of the premier Corvette restoration companies in the USA (and located in Houston) has used their services before too...

          Hope this helps...

I've used Advanced Plating in Nashville Tn. several times and couldn't be happier. They routinely do the cars that win the Riddler award . They did all the chrome on this years Riddler award winner. They typically plate the part up to three times with copper and buff each layer before the chrome goes on. They are especially good at plating pot metal. They did my 59 windshield posts and they turned out fabulous.

I just had my LT1's bumpers and also bumpers from a 63 XKE done by Electroplating of El Paso. Turned out real nice . . . a good distance from you though.

How much have people paid to get their 2 front C1 bumpers rechromed?

I believe between $325 to $450 per bumper is the going price.

I've heard good things about them, as well.

If you happen to run across Bumper Boyz from LA, just keep on walking.
They do lots of bumpers but thier quality is less them desireable.
                        IMHO

Doug's Plating in Adamsville, Tn (E of Memphis) did the bumpers on my '65. They are very good, in business for several decades. They do some real high end hot rod stuff also.

is the best quality i have found lately, Sandy is as fair on price as chrome work can get. it is not cheap where ever ya go.

i am is picky as one can get and i like his work.
