1960 Soft Top Compression Strap Snaps

I recently purchased a strap hardware kit from Corvette Central and it comes with two different phillip head bolts/snap assembly, one with no shoulder on it and one with a should on it. It also came with two chrome trim washers. The first photo shows the snap that is currently mounted on the inside of the frame; with a slot screw and now shoulder on the snap. The second photo shows the type of screw and trim washer that holds the strap in place. Photo 3 shows the snaps in the Corvette Central hardware kit.

Question, Is the slot head bolt/snap correct? Or should it be one of the phillips head bolt/snaps that came from Corvette Central?

Thanks John. A friend with a 1960 has the same type of snaps. That is enough evidence for me.

We checked around, and the phillips head snaps are the only snaps currently available for reproduction kits. We will update if this changes.

Another possible source of correct snaps with slot heads are snaps made for tonneau covers. I saw two cars over the weekend that formerly had tonneau covers and the snaps were correct; no shoulder and slot head. I don't know how old the snaps were.

            Joe,

Just to chime in here, mine are slotted just like your picture. Original to car as far as I know.

Thomas, I always appreciate your chimes. I have now received enough responses to my question and viewed enough cars to confirm that the snap on the vertical surface of the top frame should be slot head stud in a flangeless snap. I did some snap research and found out about the terminology of snaps. I found a company, Dot, that makes the phillips head stud in a flangeless snap; the type that the major vendors sell, but I did not come across anyone selling the correct snap.
