    1965 Fuel Injection

Need some info on a fuel meter ID tag for my 1965. The unit is a 380 with #2775. Car is a mid November 1964 build date.
Engine block is I 9 4. I would like to order a tag for it since it is missing. What would be the correct date code for this repro tag?
    Thanks.

HI Jack, I am back from the Fall Carlisle show although worn out.
It is very helpful if one has the engine build date to establish a time frame for the tags. But you did provide the casting date so the engine assembly date has to be in September.
But since your car is mid November then the Fuel meter "Inspection tag" most likely would be dated Sept '64.
You need a Right Angle inspection tag to be 100% correct but no one makes that Right Angle tag.
Typical repros (ALL) are Triangle tags. All three angles the same.

For a start at least put on a repro so you get some credit for judging. JD

        Hi John

Do you have a photo of an original "right angle" tag so us posers know what to look for?

        Regards

        Gary

The tag on my '62 unit is a triangle, from 1969, when I rescued it from the back of a gas station in Troy, NY??????

          It's brass.

I took these of a 65 FI this summer at Bloomington. I have no idea if they are correct.

              Very helpful.
Did not know about the correct shape of the tag.

Maybe it is yours? Was it silver coupe at Bloomington this year?

No, sadly, mine is a '62 in need of restoration. The two 380s I have are in two of the pictures in my 'tach reads twice cable speed' thread.

Here is what I believe is a correct 65 right angle tag, courtesy of John DeGregory.

The old flat top unit has a brass tag with no right angle. It hasn't been touched in 41 years.

Maybe, but all the ones I've seen are anodized aluminum, yellowish on one side, clear on the other.
John Degregory may have some more info on these as this is his business.

You are right! I carefully bent one corner up and sure enough, it was aluminum on the bottom.
