    Holley Numbers Questions

Hi guys, I am still pulling parts out the bins I put away 25 years ago. I really never looked at most of this stuff, but most of the stuff has turned out to be original or NOS parts for my 72. I know these carbs are not for my car, but I do not understand all the numbers on a Holley.

The first few carburators were quadrajets that did turn out to be for Corvettes. But the others are Holleys that I do not know how to break down the numbers on. They are like new so the numbers are very easy to read. Even the ink numbers on the bowels. Here are the numbers that are on the Holley carubrators.

Front of air horn: List 6498 / 2275
Flat area on air horn 4237
    Front metering block: 7832 / 6498
    Rear metering block: 7837 / 6498

    Holley Carburator:
    3955205
    List 4296 / 2732
    Front metering block: 5895 / 4296
    INK on front bowel: 47020
    Rear bowel: 5109 / 4296
    Ink on rear bowel: 5905N

    I would appreciate any input.Thanks,

      Re: Holley Numbers Questions

      Clem,
The replacement carb (6498) was a carb we all wanted as kids. The spread Bore Holley that bolted right on to the basic cast iron manifold was very saught after. In fact, I had one on my 68 GTO in high school. (75-78)

I do understand the major part numbers, but I was told some of the other numbers are dates of production. Do you know how to translate those numbers?

      Thanks
