    66 air coup project

I am working again on a 66 air coup project that I started a few years ago. the car has PS, PB, AC, AT and PW. I acquired the car from another who started the project and for personal reasons could not complete it so I acquired the car and boxes of new and used parts. Anyway I have the horns pictured below and for the life of me I can't figure out how they attach. They seem different than the ones in Nolands book and the brackets do not appear to permit attachments as suggested in the AIM. My question is "are these correct for my car? and if so how do they mount?" thanks for the help.

Thanks Mike, that is both what I thought and what I was afraid of. Now the search for a couple of horns.

Mike, is it the bracket that isn't right, or the horn itself? In what way?

Those horns look like mine, but I'm going off of memory....

brackets aren't correctly oriented to the horn main body and i doubt, no i"m certain, the part #'s on the horns in the photo are passenger car, not midyear vet part #'s.mike

            Thanks Mike,
I guess I am on the search for a set of horns.
Any ideas on where to get a set of correct horns?

              Joe -

'64-'67 horns (9000487 & 488) look like the photo below; the mounting brackets are flat, with a slight bend at the bolt hole end.

                Thanks John,
My understanding is that they were also dated. Obviously the date can't be after the birthday of the car, but any idea on how far prior to the build date the horn date might be. Obviously not as significant as Engine pieces but still curious.

                  Joe -

Yes, the horns are dated; as with any other dated component (other than glass), they can be dated up to six months prior to the car's build date.
