Re: 205 75 R15 Goodyear Radials - (Rollback)
Viva is an older Goodyear tire model. I believe it is now made exclusively for Walmart. While the Viva is certainly not a high performance tire, it's good that there's another option for this size tire. There are really very few options left in this tire size. And, it's only going to go from bad to worse. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 205 75 R15 Goodyear Radials - (Rollback)
VIVA is (was ?) Goodyears private label for Walmart.
I put them on a 62 I did a few years ago.
They drove fine and the speed rating didn't matter to me, 65 or 70 is my max speed.
By the way I believe they were $42 each...- Top

Re: 205 75 R15 Goodyear Radials - (Rollback)
Thanks John, they are "S". Bruce, I don't drive much above that speed either with my '60s and '70s cars, maybe 75 on longer trips. However there is a big quality and workmanship difference between the tires with "H" speed rating and better and those below that speed rating, like "S". It's about safety to me, and worth the extra money and trouble. As Duke put it: "An H-rated or above tire will outlast, timewise, a lesser speed rated tire two to one or more, and if it does fail internally due to age related loss of structural integrity, the nylon cap belt will almost always keep the tire from disintegrating as was the case with all those Ford Explorers a decade ago."
I recently gave up trying to find good rubber after mounting my last set of Pirelli P4000 (Z rated) vintage size radials and switched one of my '70s cars to 17" rims to get better rubber. I have "W" rated Firestones on it, and luckily, the aftermarket has started producing vintage type Mopar Rally Wheels and center caps for it in 17s just for this reason. They look good, and with the proper size tire do not have any different ride height, wheel circumference, or revolutions per mile than the original size. I am wondering when the Chevy rallys will be available in this size.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
