Bumper brackets and other with Asphalt based paint?

I am getting ready to paint the bumper brackets, strut rod bracket and other parts under the 70 since I have the entire rear suspension and bumpers off.

Did GM use a type of asphalt paint on all or any of these components?

I was told that it is not the same as the frame asphalt paint but that the paint is still asphalt based.

I was originally just thinking it was a semi gloss lacquer in which the parts were dipped.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Dipped in semi-gloss enamel, IIRC what John Hinckley said in his National Convention presentation -- and on here too.
